Description
The orangery at Felbrigg Park was built around 1705 for William Ashe Windham and restored in 1958. It is constructed of brick and features a hipped slate roof. The south front has seven bays with tall cross-casement windows that have glazing bars and are recessed in their openings. The stone sills are at ground level, with the lower two lights able to open while the upper lights are fixed. These windows may have replaced sash windows. The facade includes rubbed flat brick arches and moulded reveals. There are central double-leaved doors with blank lower panels and upper panels that match the glazing bars of the windows, along with an overlight and flanking windows in similarly sized openings. A plain timber cornice with an iron gutter runs along the top. The west gable wall has been repaired, and there is a blocked opening to the east. The north side features seven blind openings. Inside, the orangery has colour-washed brick and a concrete lintel above the blocked opening in the west wall.
