Description
Whey Curd Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 19th century, with a datestone indicating 1829. The building features roughcast walls with gault brick dressings and a roof made of smut pantiles. It has a 'T' plan, with the rear section built in 1829 and the front section added around 1880. The rear wing is two storeys high and has three bays, with a brick plinth and pilasters topped with dentil capitals. There are two casement windows on the ground floor and three on the first floor, with the ground floor windows set under segmental rubbed brick arches. The entrance includes a part-glazed door with panelled reveals. The farmhouse has a simplified brick modillion cornice, coped, parapetted end gables, and off-centre and end gable stacks, along with crested ridge tiles. The 1880 range on the west facade is also two storeys high, with three bays and a ground floor verandah over bay windows, constructed of wood with a tiled roof. There is also a one bay wing to the north, which is two storeys tall.
