Description

Bridge Yard is an early 18th-century cottage, later divided into two dwellings. It is constructed of red brick with a black pantile roof. The building is two storeys high and originally comprised four bays, though it was initially two cottages.

The facade features a brick plinth, a plat-band string course, and a dentil eaves cornice. The ground floor has two three-light cast iron casement windows with glazing bars, each set within a segmental brick arch. The first floor has two two-light and one single-light casements, also with glazing bars. There are two door embrasures, also under rubbed brick arches, now containing 20th-century doors. Brick coped parapets top the facade, with a 20th-century stack situated below the ridge off-centre. A single-story flint and pantile lean-to is set into the southwest gable. The northwest gable contains two 18th-century flint and brick cottages, which have been altered.

The rear (east) facade, which has four bays, has 20th-century windows in the original openings.

The building was originally a lobby entrance house and now has an altered interior. It is included in the listing primarily for its group value.
