Description

Copy’s Green Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating to the 17th century with later additions. The front facade is rendered and the roof is covered in black glazed pantiles. It has a T-shaped layout, with two storeys and seven bays. The windows are mostly C19 plate glass sashes, with a crowd floor end bay window on the east side and a tripartite plate glass sash elsewhere. The doorway is positioned off-centre and is sheltered by an early 19th-century wooden porch featuring fluted Greek Doric columns, an entablature, and a doorcase with Doric piers and panelled reveals. The end gables have parapets and distinctive stacks with star-shaped sections. A rear wing, three storeys high, is constructed of flint with brick dressings. The rear facade, at the northwest corner, features a filled-in brick window surround, suggesting an original 17th-century construction of the house. Additionally, gable bracket brick courses and a dentil cornice indicate an 18th-century re-roofing.
