Description

The Carpenters Arms is a range of cottages dating from the 18th century. The exterior is colourwashed plaster with a red pantile roof. The building has two storeys and originally featured six windows on the ground floor and four windows on the first floor. Most windows are sashes with glazing bars, although one ground floor window has been replaced with a 20th-century window. The first-floor windows have lintels set at eaves level. Later doors have been introduced. A lean-to bay extends from the right-hand side. The south-east gable has a brick coping. Two ridge stacks are present. The rear elevation is constructed of brick and flint and incorporates Yorkshire slide sash windows on the first floor.
