Description
The walls with gateway steps and arch at Hall Farm date from the early 19th century. They are constructed of flint, knapped and random, with brick dressings and copings. The garden and farmyard curtain wall curves at a 45-degree angle, connecting the Kirkgate farmyard entrance to the High Street Hall Farmhouse entrance. A distinctive entrance gateway is located opposite the church, featuring steps and a semi-circular arch made of tapering bricks, capitals, and a central keystone. The ogee coping bricks are stepped like battlements and include dentils. At a right angle, the wall connects with the south front of Hall Farm, also from the early 19th century, featuring flint and gault dressings. Stone console brackets with Greek Revival mouldings are present at the junction with the curtain wall. This structure is included for its group value.
