Description
Gunthorpe West View is a farmhouse with origins in the 17th century, featuring early and mid-19th century details. It is constructed of brick and has a red pantiled roof. The building is two storeys high and has a three-bay double pile plan. On the ground floor, there are two tripartite sash windows with glazing bars, set under flat rubbed brick arches. The first floor has three 2-light casements, also with glazing bars.
The entrance features a part-glazed mid-19th century door with a four-centred arch, which is set beneath two superimposed rubbed brick gothic arches within a rectangular frame topped with battlements. The house has one off-centre stack, and at each eaves, there are kneelers, a parapet, and an end stack with a diamond section. The west side displays a Dutch gable with a prominent tripartite diamond pattern stack, which is mirrored by a similar stack on the gable of the rear pile. To the west, there is a two-storey, two-bay wing with a three-bay return, also built of brick and featuring sash windows with glazing bars and a flat parapet, dating from the early 19th century.
