Description

Corner Cottage, together with number 7 Mariner’s Hill, dates from the late 17th or early 18th century. The building is constructed of brick and flint with brick dressings and has a steep pantile roof with a coped gable end. It is set at a right angle to the road. The end facing the road has one sash window on the first floor with glazing bars. The ground floor features a modern square bay window and a good doorcase with reeded pilasters, an entablature with a decorated frieze and dentilled cornice, panelled reveals, and a glazed door. The north elevation shows widely-spaced windows; the first floor has two small sashes, while the ground floor has one sash window with glazing bars, and two modern glazed doors.
