Description
No 71 on Bridge Street is a cottage that likely dates back to the 17th century, with some alterations. It is two stories tall and constructed from carstone and red brick, with the front painted. The first floor features three near flush frame sash windows, which now have glazing bars only in the center. There is a central six-panel door that is topped with a hood supported by shaped brackets. The building has a slate roof. Attached to it is a single-story wing from the 18th century, which has a pantile roof and was once used as a tin-smith's workshop. No 71, along with the former Methodist Church, Sunday School, Library, and boundary walls, forms a group with Nos 1 and 3 Railway Road.
