Description
Nos 1 and 3 Railway Road is a pair of two-storey buildings constructed in 1828. They are made of amber brick and feature a curved sash window with glazing bars on the rounded corner. There is a blank recess at the first floor level, and on the return, there is also a blank recess along with another sash window with glazing bars. The buildings have a slate roof topped with a pyramidal leaded corner and a small eaves soffit. A first-floor band runs along the buildings, and the entrance is located on the corner. A date tablet inscribed with "BM 1828" is present. Nos 1 and 3 Railway Road are part of a group that includes the Former Methodist Church, Sunday School, Library No 71, and Boundary Walls on Bridge Street.
