Description

Nos 60 and 62, Friar Street, are a pair of buildings dating to the late 18th and early 19th century, constructed of painted brick. The buildings are two storeys and have attics. They feature five four-light casement windows with cambered heads. There are two side doors, each with six fielded panels and a three-light segmental head. A moulded stone cornice runs along the first floor, with a band defining the attic floor. Moulded wooden eaves are present, and the roof is covered in old tiles. The composition is unusual, although the character has been somewhat reduced by the alteration of one lower window. Nos 56 to 66 (even) form a notable group.
