Description

The Star and Garter Inn, located at 1054 High Street, is an early 19th-century building with a stuccoed front that hides its timber-frame structure. It has two storeys and features six unbarred sash windows, although one is blocked. The entrance is marked by a moulded wood doorcase and there is a decorative band. The left side of the building has a curved angle, and the parapet is topped with a raised centre-piece that displays a star and the name of the inn in relief. The roof is tiled. The Star and Garter Inn, along with Nos 15 to 19, forms a notable group of buildings.
