Description

This is a mid-19th century terrace range of 13 cottages, numbered 61 to 73, along Railway Road. The cottages are situated adjacent to the east of the Railway Hotel. They are two storeys high and have one sash window on each floor. The cottages are constructed of carstone with buff brick dressings, and have a slate roof. Each cottage has a recessed panel above a ground-floor arched entrance, which features a blank tympanum and a four-panel door. Cottages 61, 63, and 65 have projecting shops on the ground floor, with original wooden shop cases. The original glazing bars remain in the first-floor windows of cottages 63 and 65 only. Cottages 61 to 87 (odd) form a group.
