Description

This is a terrace of six cottages built in the mid-19th century. They are located on Hunstanton Road in Heacham. The cottages are constructed of squared and coursed carstone with brick dressings and have red pantiled roofs. They are two storeys high, with single-storey lean-tos added to the north and south. Each cottage originally had a single sash window with glazing bars on the ground floor and a single two-light casement window on the first floor, all with brick dressings. However, No. 1, at the south end, has had 20th-century windows inserted into these openings. The cottages have three-panel doors with nailed and chamfered dividing ribs. The gable ends have brick coped parapets with blocked brick ventilation slits in the apex. There are three clustered semi-octagonal brick stacks on each ridge. The south lean-to has a swept carstone coped parapet and 20th-century windows. A similar lean-to to the north continues on axis with a brick-arched entrance and wall. Each cottage has a hipped gable at the rear.
