Description
No. 82 High Street is a mid-19th century shop with flats above. The building is constructed from rendered and colorwashed brick, featuring plaintiles on the front roof slope and pantiles on the rear. It stands three stories tall with a dormer attic and is divided into four bays. The shopfront is a 20th-century addition. The elevation has rusticated quoins, and the upper floors are adorned with sash windows, each featuring one glazing bar. The first-floor windows have architraves and hoods supported by scrolled consoles, while the second-floor windows also have architraves and sills resting on block corbels. A parapet is located below the Mansard roof, which includes two pantiled dormers with sash windows. The building has partly external gable-end stacks and is included for its group value.
