Description

The garden wall located approximately 25 metres to the west of Snettisham House, along with the summer house and crinkle crankle wall, is a notable structure dating back to 1702 and the mid-to-late 18th century. The wall to the south of Snettisham House is constructed from coursed and galletted carstone rubble with carstone coping on the north side and brick on the south side. It features a datestone on the south side inscribed with "1702 R(ichard) C(obb)."

To the west, there are two lines of straight joint quoins at the junction with the summer house, made from coursed, squared ashlar carstone with brick dressing. The summer house is two storeys high and has three bays in a Gothick style. The ground floor includes two wooden framed Gothic arched casement windows, one of which is missing its frame, while the other retains its wooden frame and lead glazing bar iron casement. There is a central Gothic arched entrance where the door frame has been removed but is still present inside. On the first floor, there is one Gothic window with part of its frame still in place. The structure is currently roofless.

Attached at right angles is a crinkle crankle wall made of Flemish bond brick, consisting of eight shallow bays with brick coping. This wall features a cambered headed arched door in the second bay to the south of the summer house.
