Description

The garden wall to the east of Craster Tower dates from the late 18th century. It is built of mixed whinstone and sandstone rubble, with some brick and features cut sandstone dressings. The wall stands 4 metres high and has an embattled design. It connects to the south-east corner of the east wing of the house. Near the east end, there is a blocked door with a keyed supra-lintel. At the eastern end, the wall has a short return to the north, which includes a circular opening set in a raised surround. This structure is included for its group value. The lower continuation to the north is not of special interest.
