Description

The gatepiers and attached wall located to the north of Craster Tower date from the late 18th century. They are constructed from cut sandstone for the piers and squared whinstone for the wall. The square piers feature moulded cornices and ball finials set on swept bases. The wall to the left stands 1.5 metres high and has a low-pitched coping, connecting to the south-west corner of the gateway. This structure is included for its group value.
