Description

27 and 28 Tuesday Market Place are two houses that have been converted into offices, dating from the early 19th century. They are constructed of brown brick with red brick detailing and feature black glazed pantiles on the front and plain tiles at the rear.

Both buildings stand three storeys tall with a dormer attic. Number 27 has a late 20th-century shopfront and three sash windows on each floor above, all set under red-brick gauged skewback arches. The lower sashes on the first floor have lost their glazing bars, and the center window is a replacement. The second-floor sashes are similar, with the left one being a replacement as well. The building has a parapet and a gabled roof, along with one flat-topped dormer that contains a sash window.

Number 28 has two bays and an identical shopfront. Its sash windows feature glazing bars and red-brick gauged skewback arches, with the second-floor windows being replacements. This building also has a parapet and a gabled roof, along with one sloping dormer that contains a sash window. Both buildings have internal gable-end stacks, with the one on the east side of number 27 raised in the 20th century. The interior of the buildings does not contain anything of interest.
