Description
Springwood is a mid-19th century house located on Rectory Road in Outwell. It is constructed of red brick with a plain tile roof, featuring a ridge stack and an end stack on the south side. The house has two storeys and an asymmetric facade, highlighted by a slightly projecting gabled main entrance bay. The eaves cornice is designed in a sawtooth pattern, and there is a moulded brick band between the floors, along with labels above the window arches. The windows on the first floor are hung sash types, with two and three lights. The ground floor also has three similar windows set in shallow two-centred arches, plus a pair of fixed lights with trefoiled heads on the right side. The north wing of the house, dating from the early 19th century, is built of local brown brick and has a slate roof with a ridge stack, featuring windows on both the first and ground floors.
