Description
Newfields Farmhouse is a pair of houses that were originally one, dating from the late 16th century but now much altered. The building is constructed of brick and has a slate roof. It stands two storeys high and is arranged in three bays. The entrance door is located to the right of the centre, flanked by two renewed sash windows on each floor for No. 27. No. 25 features two late 20th-century windows in the north bay. The roof is gabled and covered with 19th-century slate. There are internal gable end stacks and a ridge stack at the division of the two properties. The south gable wall is built in English bond and has a set-off at the first floor. There are two blocked ground floor windows and two first floor windows with two lights, featuring chamfered brick mullions under square hoods that continue as a string course. The rear wall of the house has been rebuilt.
