Description

The Eastern Gate Pier and Forecourt Wall to Number 8, known as Hagbeach House, dates from the late 17th century. Constructed from brick and limestone, the gate pier features a square section on a moulded plinth. It has a circular-headed niche facing the road, which displays a carved coat of arms set within a fielded panel. The pier is topped with a moulded cornice and a ball finial on a stepped base. A brick wall with brick coping extends north towards the house but is interrupted by an entrance to a subsidiary courtyard.
