Description
This barn, located approximately 30 meters north of Field Farm House, dates back to 1778. It is constructed from broken flint with brick dressings and has a pantile roof. The barn features 10 bays and 6 steads, with a continuous low outshut to the south. There are various additions, including some made of corrugated iron to the north, which do not have special architectural interest. The northern part is partly made of graded and coursed broken flint, and there are two large openings that have been renewed. The east gable displays the date 1788 and the initials M B F, which stand for Martin Browne ffolkes, in brick. Inside, there is a west threshing floor made of York stone slabs, and the internal walls are constructed of clunch. The roof is a three-tier butt purlin design with ties and collars. This barn forms a group with Field Farm House.
