Description
This complex of farm buildings, located immediately west of Manor Farmhouse, was built in 1881. It includes byres, stables, a granary, and cattle yards, constructed from gault brick with slate roofs. The buildings are mostly single storey, except for the two-storey granary at the north end of the range. The windows are all sashes set beneath segmental gauged arches, and there is a dentil eaves cornice along with gabled roofs. The gable ends feature decorative brick internal stepping. The byres and stables have a ridge line that is interrupted by gabled louvres. Inside, the roof structures consist of King posts with struts to the principals and one tier of through purlins. The granary retains its steam-driven threshing machinery, making this complex a particularly fine and complete example of a Victorian advanced farmshed.
