Description

The Limes is a mid-18th century house that has been restored in the 20th century. It is built of brick with some carstone and features carstone galleting, topped with pantile and plaintile roofs. The building consists of two sections: on the left is a two-storey range with three windows, and on the right is a two-storey section with a dormer attic and a single window. The right section has a 20th-century porch to the right, which is topped by a pediment and contains a six-panelled door. There is one renewed six-over-six sash window to the left and an eight-over-eight sash window on the first floor directly above. A platband runs along the first floor, and there is a deep eaves cornice below the bell-capped plaintile roof. A central flat-roofed 20th-century dormer is present, along with a stack in the slope of the roof to the left and an internal gable-end stack to the right.

The left section features a 20th-century door set to the right of centre, flanked by a six-over-six horned sash window to the right and two similar sashes to the left. There are three similar sashes on the first floor, with the centre window having eight-over-eight panes. The left section has a gabled pantile roof without any stacks. The interior has not been inspected. The building is included for its group value.
