Description

Seifton House is a house from the mid-18th century and later. It is built of brick, which was formerly colourwashed, and has a plain tile roof with brick end stacks. The house is two storeys high and has a five-window range, featuring a central 8/8 sash window and 6/6 sash windows in moulded cases. The central entrance has a half-glazed panelled door and a fanlight set in panelled round-headed reveals, topped with a modillioned wooden open pediment hood supported by entablature blocks and plain pilasters. This entrance is flanked by 6/1 sash windows in moulded cases under segmental arches, and there is a storey band.

On the right side of the house, there are three 20th-century blocked openings and a 20th-century casement window, along with two 18th-century casement windows in the gable. To the left, there is a sandstone rubble wing that features French windows and a fanlight, set under a deep jetty with a 20th-century casement above. There is also another rubble wing with a rubble lateral stack and four linked brick chimneys; it has an oriel window with a coved underhang and margin-glazed sashes, positioned above a moulded stone mullion window on the left side.

At the rear, there is a single-storey and attic wing with a brick chimney, two gables featuring lattice-glazed leaded casements under modillioned bargeboards with pendant finials, and a dressed sandstone porch with a studded plank door set under a four-centred arch. Additionally, there are 20th-century stable doors, casements, and carriage doors. The interior has not been inspected.
