Description
The Manor House is a farmhouse with an attached barn, now converted into a single house. It dates from the early 17th century, was rebuilt in 1689, and underwent restoration and alterations in the mid-20th century. The structure features a brick base with flint and has a thatched roof. It has a baffle entry plan and is two storeys high. The south front displays an irregular arrangement of bays, with a 20th-century door located left of centre beneath a 20th-century timber porch. To the left of the door is a datestone marked N.R.S. 1689. There are four leaded 20th-century casements on each floor, along with one small square window on the ground floor and two similar windows on the first floor. The roof is gabled, with a rebuilt ridge stack positioned left of centre and an internal gable end stack to the east, featuring a rectangular plinth with a moulded base and two rebuilt octagonal flues. The eastern gable head is supported by moulded kneelers. The rear also includes 20th-century leaded casements, as well as one 19th-century and one 20th-century flat-topped single-storey extension. Inside, the bridging beams and joists remain intact. The fireplace in the east room has a four-centred arch and is decorated with roll and hollow mouldings, with tongue and barred jamb stops.
