Description
The barn at Church Farm is a threshing barn dating from around 1700. It is timber framed with a brick plinth and gables, topped with a slate roof. The west side is weatherboarded above the plinth and features full height double doors positioned to the right of the center. The barn has a gabled roof with gable heads made of corrugated iron. On the east side, there is a gabled transept entrance, also weatherboarded above the brick plinth, with one pedestrian doorway. To the right of this entrance, there is a brick and timber outshut with a pantiled roof. The interior consists of four bays, with principal studs supporting knuckle braces that connect to the tie beams. The walls are closely studded but made of thin scantling, and there is an oak threshing floor. The roof structure includes principals, two tiers of taper-tenoned butt purlins, and collars, although many of the roof timbers have been replaced.
