Description
This is a headstone memorial to George Beloe, located south of the Church of St Nicholas in Great Yarmouth. It was created in 1845 and is made of limestone. The headstone is rectangular with a shallow shaped top that features a relief depiction of the Yarmouth suspension bridge collapsing into the river. This bridge was designed by J.J. Scoles in 1830. The inscription on the headstone reads: "Sacred to the memory of George H.J. Beloe the beloved son of Louisa Beloe who was unfortunately drowned by the fall of the suspension bridge the 2nd of May 1845 aged 9 years."
