TG5208SW CHURCH PLAIN 839-1/11/28 (North side) Memorial to George Beloe south of Church of St Nicholas

GV II

Headstone to George Beloe. 1845. Limestone. Rectangular with a shallow shaped head in which is a relief representation of the Yarmouth suspension bridge collapsing into the river. The bridge was by JJ Scoles, 1830. Inscription as follows: `Sacred/ to the memory of/ George H.J. Beloe/ the beloved son of/ Louisa Beloe/ who was unfortunately drowned/ by the fall/ of the suspension bridge/ the 2nd of May 1845/ aged 9 years'.
