Description
The Old White House is a house that originated in the late 16th century or early 17th century, but has been significantly restored and renewed. The ground floor is made of colourwashed brick, while the upper storey is rendered. It features a steeply pitched pantiled roof and has a T-shaped plan with two storeys. On the first floor, there are two windows that are three-light casements with leaded glazing, and on the ground floor, there are two shallow bays, all of which date from the 20th century. The central doorway has a 20th-century glazed door set within an early 17th-century moulded frame. The first floor jetties out over the ground floor. The rear wing is constructed of colourwashed brick and has 20th-century all-bar casements. A chimney stack is located on the ridge line. Inside, the house retains beams with ovolo mouldings and joists, along with some good 17th-century doors and moulded frames. The building is included for its group value.
