Description
Ivy House, including attached outbuildings, is an 18th-century house located on the west side of The Green in Acle. The building is constructed of rendered and colourwashed brick, although the front elevation is largely hidden by ivy. It features a thatched roof and has two storeys plus attics, with an L-shaped plan. The facade facing the street has a widely spaced three-window arrangement, consisting of three and five-light casement windows that have shouldered arches on the upper lights. The entrance is off-centre and includes a six-panelled door with a rectangular fanlight above it, framed by a moulded timber door surround and a panelled reveal. There is an off-centre axial stack, and the gables are parapeted with internal stacks. The rear elevation is also colourwashed brick and has a four-light casement window at the first floor, featuring Gothick heads in the two centre lights. Additionally, there is a lean-to conservatory and a range of attached brick and pantile outbuildings that face Mill Lane.
