Description

The Jubilee Memorial is a commemorative structure built to honor Queen Victoria's Jubilee, which took place from 1837 to 1887. It is made of limestone and has a square shape. Each side features a carved panel above the plinth, adorned with a gabled drip mould supported by ball-flower stops. The east face includes inscriptions indicating the distances to Norwich and Yarmouth, while the west face displays a depiction of a railway locomotive. The south face features a camera on a tripod along with distances to Upton, South Walsham, and Yarmouth (New Road). The inscription on the north side has eroded and is no longer legible. The memorial is topped with a cast iron lamp standard sitting on a stone base.
