Cottage. Late C17. Timber framed, rendered clay lump and pantiled roof. 2 storeys and attic. 2 doorways right and left of centre with brick surrounds. 3 casements to ground floor, 4 to upper evently spaced. Overhang to roof with central and right gable ridge stacks. South gable with C20 windows to first two floors. Coping string course at roof line below single attic window topped with hood string course. Plain bargeboards. Rear has 2 storey gabled privy tower with small casements, the lower C20. C18 lean-to extension to right, C20 extension to left. 2 storey wing to north of same construction as main block. Various windows of C20 in original openings. Chimney to gable end. North gable wall rebuilt of random brick to ground floor, clay lump above. Renewed chimney. Ground floor south room with chamfered end- stopped beams. Original fireplace with brick surround. Most timber framing of interior intact. Staircase in chimney breast. Principals and secondary rafters in roof. Collars with clasped purlins above and butt purlins below. Notable as an early survival of clay lump construction.
