Description

Manor Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 17th century, with a rebuild in the late 18th century. It is constructed of brick and clay lump, topped with a pantiled roof. The building has two storeys and an attic, featuring a two-storey front hall extension from the 19th century that includes a bay window on the ground floor and casement and sash windows above. The gabled roof has some tumbling and is covered with pantiles. There is a 20th-century doorway to the left, with two sashes on each storey to the left and one to the right, all featuring glazing bars and varying sizes under segmental arches. A brick string course runs at first floor level on the right side. The house has a range of four gabled dormer windows and a tripartite ridge stack above the original door from the early 17th century, which has been truncated. Additional stacks are located on the left gable and on the 19th-century hall extension. The rear of the house has rendered clay lump walls set on a brick and flint plinth, with two small two-light windows under the eaves. There is a single-storey service bay extending to the garden, which is gabled and has a 19th-century casement window. An additional pantiled lean-to on the right dates from the mid-19th century. A two-storey addition to the north is made of flint with brick facings and is not part of the original house.
