Description

The East Bilney War Memorial is a First World War memorial made of stone, situated in the churchyard of the Church of St Mary, which is listed at Grade II*. The memorial features an obelisk that rises from a four-sided tapering plinth, all resting on a three-stepped base.

The inscriptions are incised into the stone. On the east face of the plinth, the main inscription reads: "SACRED TO THE MEMORY OF (4 NAMES) OF THIS PARISH WHO DIED SERVING THEIR COUNTRY IN THE GREAT WAR 1914-1918." Below this, on the step, is the inscription "R.I.P" in foliate-style lettering.
