Description
A row of three almshouses, dating from 1838. The inscription above the central porch states that they were erected by Rebecca Pearce and endowed by William Pearce for three poor, elderly couples. The building is constructed of brick with a slate roof and is in a Gothic style. It is single-storied with three gabled porches, each featuring an arched entrance. There are six three-light casement windows with cusped heads and rectangular hood moulds. Decorative details include dentil cornices, crow-stepped gables, and two stacks with paired angled shafts. The roof is finished with decorative slate. A flint and brick lean-to addition extends to the rear.
