Description

North Tuddenham War Memorial is situated in the churchyard of St Mary’s Church and features a gabled medieval Calvary cross atop a fluted column with a collar. The column stands on a tapering square plinth, which is set on a single-stepped base.

The front of the plinth is engraved with the words: IN LOVING MEMORY OF (NAMES) WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR. Another side reads: ERECTED BY THEIR SORROWING RELATIVES AND GRATEFUL FRIENDS. The other faces also bear inscriptions of names.

On one side of the base, the dates 1914 – 1919 and the phrase R.I.P. are inscribed, while another side displays the date 1939 – 1945.
