Description
Nos. 2 and 4 Burgh Lane are a row of two houses dating from the early 18th century. They feature a chequer patterned brick exterior and pantile roofs. The houses were extended by one bay to the north in the mid-18th century, and their openings were refashioned in the 19th century. The buildings are single storey with an attic. The facade includes two boarded doors and one panelled door, along with two 2-light casement windows and one 3-light casement window, all of which have horizontal glazing bars. These openings are set beneath segmental arches. The south gable end has been partially rebuilt and includes one 18th-century 4-light window with a metal casement at ground floor level, as well as one 19th-century 3-light casement window in the gable. The houses have one central axial stack and two 20th-century gabled dormers. At the rear, there is a lean-to outshut and a 20th-century extension to the side and rear.
