Description

Victoria Stores is an early to mid-19th century shop and dwelling located on the south west side of Church Plain, Mattishall. The building is constructed of brick with a black pantile roof. It is two storeys high. The shop front is a fine, off-centre design of segmental plan, featuring a central modern glazed door flanked by three-light windows. The shop front has a reeded architrave moulding with corner roundels, a lettered frieze, and a projecting cornice with an egg motif between small paired brackets. Four symmetrically positioned sash windows have glazing bars beneath skewback arches with cambered soffits. These windows are set beneath a plain fascia. The roof is hipped, with one end stack. A later 19th-century side extension is located to the south.
