Description
London House, which includes Taylor's Shop, is a building dating from the early 19th century and later. It is constructed from colourwashed brick and features a pantile roof. The shop section is located to the east and is marked by two giant rusticated pilasters. The house has three bays and stands two storeys tall. It has imitation sash windows with glazing bars set beneath skewback arches. The central entrance features a panelled door with a simple hood supported by brackets, and there is a blind window above it. The shop retains its original front, which has a central recessed doorway flanked by three-light windows, all beneath a lettered frieze and cornice. On the first floor, there are two imitation sash windows with glazing bars, also beneath raised skewback arches with raised keystones. Decorative metal railings are present at all first-floor windows. The building has gable-end stacks and one axial stack.
