Description

This is an early 19th-century house, built upon an earlier core. It is constructed of colourwashed brick with a pantile roof. The house is unusually wide, with a single pile arrangement. It is two storeys high and features a symmetrical facade of six bays, with Victorian 2-light mullion and transom windows set beneath skewback arches. A Victorian panelled front door is set within a pedimented doorcase supported by shaped brackets. The building has a projecting fascia, embellished with cast iron lion’s head decorations and ogee guttering. Two stacks are visible from the front: one on the front roof pitch and one positioned off-centre axially. A low extension projects to the north side, featuring a wide segmental entrance arch with projecting imposts and a keystone that forms a fanlight with vertical bars.
