Description

The Baptist Chapel and attached church hall, built in 1858, is constructed of red brick with a gault-brick facade and features a slate roof. The exterior showcases two identical three-storey towers flanking a recessed gabled centre. Each tower has pilasters at the corners and contains a four-panelled door topped by a fanlight without glazing bars. The first floor features arched windows with margin glazing and brick corbel courses below the lantern top stage, along with paired corner pilasters and open arched windows on the cardinal points, all capped by pyramid roofs. The centrepiece includes three stepped arched windows on each floor, also with margin glazing, beneath a gabled roof. The side returns have five top-hung casement windows. At the west end, there is a red-brick church hall with a three-window range of 6/6 horned sashes.

Inside, the chapel has a gallery on the east, north, and south sides, supported by cast-iron twisted columns with Composite capitals. The balcony features cast-iron rails and a moulded timber handrail, while the ceiling is a shallow dished plaster design. An organ gallery is located at the west end, below which is a marble total immersion font with steps on either side. The pulpit and seating remain intact, and there are two closed-string staircases with turned balusters leading up to the gallery at the east end.
