Description
Glaisdale is a house built around 1770, constructed of red brick with a pantiled roof. It stands two storeys tall and features a five-window range, with the center bay projecting forward. The entrance has a six-panelled door, with the upper two panels glazed, set within panelled reveals. It is framed by a timber pilaster doorcase topped with a pediment. On either side of the door are two unhorned sash windows with three panes over three, positioned under gauged skewback arches. A platband runs along the first floor, which has four unhorned sash windows with six panes over six, also under gauged skewback arches. The house has a modillion eaves cornice and a gabled roof, which includes an internal gable-end stack on the south side and a ridge stack to the left of center. The north gable features a Venetian window on the first floor, fitted with one-over-one sash windows.
Inside, the Venetian window is supported by two fluted Doric columns. The interior also includes four-panelled doors, an eared fire surround in the ground-floor north room, and moulded cornices. The staircase has stick balusters with a ramped and wreathed handrail.
