Description

BRETTENHAM TL 98 SW 8/7 The Manor House II

Farmhouse. C17 and later. Flint and brick with gabled slate roof. 2 storeys and attic. Off centre gabled entrance porch. Casements of various sizes to right and left, those to right with transom. Alternating double and single casements to first floor. All windows with glazing bars, probably of late C18. Central hipped dormer. Multiple gable stacks at internal gable ends. East gable wall rebuilt. West gable wall has plinth and regular brick and flint courses, the bricks separated. 2 casements with renewed hoods to ground floor. 2 blocked windows to first floor. Eaves line brick string course. 2 tall, narrow, attic windows with brick dressings and parapet gable on brick kneelers. Rear altered. Blocked segmental windows to left. Pair of sloped buttresses and early C19 bordered sashes on first floor. 2 hipped dormers. High brick and flint wall leads to barn.
