Description

Wellingham War Memorial is a First World War memorial dating from around 1920. It is made of grey granite and is located in the churchyard of St Andrew's Church, prominently positioned at the southern end near the road.

The memorial features a wheel-head cross adorned with Celtic style strap work carvings at its head, set on a plain, slightly tapering shaft that rests on a two-tiered plinth. The inscription, in leaded lettering, reads: FOR THEIR COUNTRY/ 1914 - 1918/ (NAMES).
