Description
Nackington War Memorial is a First World War memorial that was erected in 1920. It is made of carved granite and features a wheel-head cross adorned with Celtic interlace relief carving on the arms and a central boss. The cross stands on a squared, tapering shaft and plinth, which are elevated by three rectangular steps.
The memorial is located within a small roadside garden at the junction of Nackington Road and Church Lane. The cross shaft bears the inscription: "OUR GLORIOUS DEAD." The plinth includes a list of names along with the regiment or branch of service of the deceased. The top step is inscribed with the words: "THESE MEN OF NACKINGTON GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE WAR 1914-1918."
