Description
This building is a granary and cart shed located 50 yards northeast of Roudham Hall, dating from the mid-18th century. It features a timber frame with a mix of brick and clay lump infilling, topped with a slate roof. The structure is supported by five timber posts with arched brackets on each side. The upper part includes vertical posts with a single diagonal brace in each bay, and the bays are infilled and rendered. There is a horizontally slatted timber window in the center. At each end, there are timber extensions covered with pantiles, with the western extension serving as the entrance to the granary. The east gable is weatherboarded above a lean-to. The roof structure comprises tie beams with king posts and struts to the principals, along with through purlins. The original partitioned plan remains, although most of the timbers are from the 20th century.
