Description

TG 01 SE HOCKERING THE STREET (north side) 6/27 15.8.79. Manor Farmhouse (formerly listed as Outbuilding immediately south-west of Manor Farmhouse).

GV II

Former barn and stables converted into dwelling. C17, C18 and later. Brick and weatherboarded timber frame with thatched roof. 2 phases of brickwork and nearly half the total length timber frame. Single storey. All openings to east side beneath segmental arches. C17 section towards northern end with small bricks in irregular bond. Later cart entrance now glazed, one boarded door and a small low opening with boarded shutter. C18 section to centre with chequer pattern brickwork and symmetrically disposed openings to former stables. Central entrance frame and fanlight retained now with fixed glazing. Pair of flanking windows each one half glazed with small panes and half filled with ventilation slits. Modern weatherboarding to Limber frame. North gable with tumbling-in. Gable ends and west side with later lean-to extensions. Metal railings around courtyard on west side. Modern axial stack and 2 dormers with jalousie vents.
