Description
Manor Farmhouse is a former barn and stables that has been converted into a dwelling. It dates from the 17th century and 18th century, with later alterations. The building features a combination of brick and weatherboarded timber frame, topped with a thatched roof. It is a single-storey structure with two phases of brickwork, and nearly half of its length is timber frame.
The east side has all openings beneath segmental arches. The 17th-century section at the northern end is constructed with small bricks in an irregular bond. There is a later cart entrance that has been glazed, along with one boarded door and a small low opening with a boarded shutter. The central section from the 18th century displays chequer pattern brickwork and has symmetrically arranged openings that were once for stables. The central entrance frame and fanlight have been retained but now feature fixed glazing. There are two flanking windows, each half glazed with small panes and half filled with ventilation slits.
Modern weatherboarding has been added to the timber frame, and the north gable shows tumbling-in. The gable ends and the west side have later lean-to extensions. There are metal railings around the courtyard on the west side, along with a modern axial stack and two dormers featuring jalousie vents.
