SHROPHAM Shropham Hall including Garden wall to west

House. 1685-1739. Brick with slate roofs. 2½ storeys in 5 bays. Side bays recessed and centre articulated by giant pilasters at corners. Early C19 porch of stuccoed brick comprising Doric entablature on Tuscan columns below balustrade. Steps framed by curved wings. Doorcase is broken segmental pediment on decorated scrolled consoles. Panelled door under 5-vaned fanlight. Sash windows renewed in late C18, all with glazing bars under gauged skewback arches, most with shutters. String course at second floor. Shouldered cross gable to roof forming half storey containing 3 lower and one upper sash windows. Symmetrical split panelled stacks. Garden facade colourwashed and of similar disposition but side bays canted outwards through 2 storeys containing 3 sash windows each floor. Blind panelling to parapet. Waterhead of 1756. Kitchen extension to west 1894. Garden wall of 2 sides only. Brick on plinth with piers and pineapple finials.
