Description
Shropham House is a house built around 1800 and extended in 1836. It is constructed of gault brick and partly flint, topped with slate roofs. The building has two storeys and features a facade that is colourwashed. A square flat-topped porch with ball finials at the corners and side lights leads to a fielded door set in a moulded case. To the left of the porch, there is a flint-built wall that represents the remains of an earlier structure. To the right of the porch, there are two mid-19th century sash windows with glazing bars, and one 20th century casement window to the left. The first floor has five sash windows, all with glazing bars. The timber eaves feature modillions that run continuously around the house. The hipped roof has stacks on both the left and right sides. The garden facade has an irregular bay division, with four sash windows on the ground floor and five on the first floor, all with glazing bars and rendered skewback arches. There is also one 20th century French window to the right. A cross wing was added to the left in 1836, featuring sash windows and a hipped roof similar to the main house.
